What inspired you to get involved in the event?

As someone deeply entrenched in the world of AI and data science, both from an industry perspective at Cognizant and an academic one through my lecturing, Tech & AI LIVE represents a vital confluence of ideas and innovation.

It's precisely the sort of forum that sparks crucial conversations and fosters the kind of collaborative spirit necessary to push the boundaries of our field.

For me, it's an opportunity to engage with fellow experts, learn from diverse perspectives and contribute to the collective understanding of this rapidly evolving landscape.

Moreover, I've always valued intellectual discourse and the sharing of knowledge – and this event promises to be a vibrant hub for just that.

Provide an overview of what your panel will focus on.

My contribution to the conference will likely centre around the practical application and future trajectory of The Sustainable Technology Forum, where we will be bridging the gap between AI promise and business value.

We'll delve into how organisations can move beyond the theoretical allure of AI and effectively implement intelligent automation strategies to drive tangible business outcomes and foster sustainable AI and business growth.

The discussion will explore the nuances of integrating AI and automation across various industries, addressing key challenges such as data governance, ethical and sustainability considerations, and the need for a human-centric approach.

We'll examine real-world case studies, highlighting successful implementations and the lessons learned.

Furthermore, we'll look ahead at the evolving landscape of intelligent automation, considering the impact of advancements in areas like generative AI, robotic process automation and cognitive technologies.

I will provide a balanced perspective, acknowledging both the immense potential and the practical hurdles that organisations must navigate to truly harness the power of intelligent automation.

What do you hope to achieve through the event?

My primary hope is to foster a deeper understanding of the practicalities and strategic implications of AI and related technologies.

I believe it's crucial to move beyond the hype and engage in nuanced discussions about how these advancements can be responsibly and effectively integrated into our businesses and societies.

Specifically, I hope to encourage attendees to think critically about how they can leverage AI and automation to solve real-world problems and drive innovation within their own organisations sustainably and make a better greener world.

As for what I'm hoping to achieve through it all? Well, if even a few attendees leave with a slightly clearer idea of how to actually apply AI in a sensible, useful and sustainable way, I'd consider that a win.

It's about moving beyond the abstract and getting down to brass tacks.

I'd also love to see some good connections forged, some ideas sparked and perhaps even a bit of healthy debate about the ethical side of things.

Ultimately, it's about contributing to a more informed and, dare I say, responsible approach to this whole AI revolution.

Ultimately, I aim to contribute to a more informed and strategic approach to the adoption and advancement of AI.

What emerging trends do you believe will shape the future of technology and AI over the next decade?

Ah, the crystal ball. Over the next decade, I reckon we'll see some rather significant shifts.

For starters, this whole generative AI business isn't going anywhere – it's going to get smarter, more integrated and likely a bit more ubiquitous than we can even imagine now.

Then there's this push towards really knowing our customers, leading to incredibly tailored experiences thanks to some seriously clever data crunching.

We'll also see more intelligence creeping out of the cloud and into our devices, in the form of Agentic AI, making processes` workflows fully automated and smart factories even smarter.

And, rather excitingly, the lines between AI and biotech are going to blur in fascinating ways, potentially leading to some truly groundbreaking medical advancements.

Of course, we can't forget the crucial bits – making sure AI is trustworthy, fair and that we humans remain firmly in the driving seat.

And lastly, while it might sound a bit like science fiction now, the gradual march of quantum computing could really shake things up in the AI world down the line. It's a thrilling time to be involved, wouldn't you agree?
