Accenture has invested in and formed a new strategic alliance with Malong Technologies, one of China's leading artificial intelligence (AI) startups.

In a statement released on Monday, the technology services giant said the alliance through its Applied Technologies division, which will allow it to offer computer vision and product recognition to clients worldwide, gives it a strategic presence in both the field of AI and the key region of China.

Recognised as an AI pioneer and innovation leader, Malong helps companies across industries to increase efficiency and quality through AI-based products and solutions.

"AI has been making incredible strides in advancing computer vision, as is clearly demonstrated in what Malong Technologies is now able to offer to organisations," said Paul Daugherty, chief technology and innovation officer at Accenture.

"Our alliance and investment in them ensures that Accenture and our Applied Intelligence practice will stay ahead of the curve when it comes to offering clients innovation through AI and intelligent technologies, across industries and countries."

Dr. Dinglong Huang, CEO of Malong Technologies, added: "Gaining Accenture as an investor and alliance partner will allow us to jointly bring our services to top-tier companies worldwide."

As part of the alliance agreement, Accenture and Malong will also pursue development of joint industry solutions and go-to-market activities.
