“Grazia comes with deep engineering and industrial expertise,” said Tom Enders, CEO of Airbus. “She’s a great team worker and a very inspiring leader, and she is one of the most international top managers in Airbus.”

“I am convinced Grazia will do a great job supporting our business divisions and in preparing the technologies we need for our future success.”

Previous to this, Vittadini held a number of senior roles including being the Head of Corporate Audit & Forensics at Airbus, taking responsibility for the company’s auditing activities on a global scale, having been with the Toulouse-based firm since 2002.

Vittadini succeeds Paul Eremenko who left the company in late 2017, now stepping in for Marc Fontaine, Digital Transformation Officer of Airbus, who has been acting as interim CTO since Eremenko’s departure.

Vittadini’s appointment comes as the aerospace industry is increasingly looking to implement new technologies, with the AI in aviation market forecast to grow at 46.65% a year between 2018-2025, rising from $152.4mn to $2.2bn by the end of the period in question.
