Amazon acquires warehouse robotics company Canvas Technology
Amazon has confirmed that it has acquired autonomous warehouse robotics startup Canvas Technology.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Canvas Technology designs and develops mobile robotic technology for factories and warehouses.

The startup was founded in 2015 and raised $15mn in a funding round led by PlayGround Global.
Other investors include Xplorer Capital, AME Cloud Ventures and Morado Ventures.
Speaking to TechCrunch, an Amazon spokesperson said the companies “share a common vision for a future where people work alongside robotics to further improve safety and workplace experience.”
The world’s largest online retailer has shown growing interest in robotics since founding its robotics arm, Amazon Robotics in 2003.
