Apple's Tim Cook confirms rumours that they're working on driverless cars
Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the iPhone giants are working on driverless technology after it was rumoured that they have been working with AI for some time.
Mr Cook admitted that autonomous driving and artificial intelligence are high on Apple's list of priorities, with a permit to test driverless vehicles being granted earlier this year.
Their autonomous car project is known as Project Titan and they've been spotted testing a car fitted with an array of sensors and cameras on public roads around the Apple facility in California's Silicon Valley.
"We’re focusing on autonomous systems," Mr Cook told Bloomberg. "It’s a core technology that we view as very important.
"We sort of see it as the mother of all AI projects, although it's probably one of the most difficult AI projects to actually to work on and develop."
