Global digital transformation leader Atos, in partnership with Google Cloud, has announced the opening of a new artificial intelligence (AI) laboratory in the Paris area of France.

The facility will enable customers, and private and public organisations to identify use cases for AI, co-create and prototype workable AI solutions, and drive adoption of the rapidly developing technology.

“With this joint laboratory between Atos and Google Cloud, we are enabling the adoption of artificial intelligence by our clients by offering them the best technologies and the highest level of security for their data processing, all within a clearly defined European regulatory framework,” said Thierry Breton, Chairman and CEO of Atos, in the company’s press release.

“As such, Atos combines economic and technological development with sovereignty, compliance and security and helps to design a secure and valued European information space.”

The partnership between Atos and Google Cloud was launched in April 2018 with a view to accelerating the development of secure hybrid cloud solutions, AI and machine learning, connected work environments and data analytics.

Besides the lab in Paris, the partnership has also seen the opening of similar facilities in London and Dallas, Texas.

Eric Haddad, Managing Director of Google Cloud France, added:

"Our technologies enable our partners and their customers get the best value out of their data securely.

“This laboratory is a concrete example of the close collaboration between the Atos and Google Cloud teams, as well as our commitment to help French and European businesses define new business models based on artificial intelligence.”
