Leading Slack partner and consultancy Bryd gains funding to fuel global expansion and product roadmap, empowering businesses to maximise Slack's potential

Bryd, a Slack-first partner and consultancy in the productivity space, has raised $300K USD in seed funding from angel investors, marking a significant milestone in Bryd's mission to transform how businesses leverage and understand Slack's extensive capabilities. Slack, used by nearly a million organisations worldwide, including 80% of the Fortune 100 companies, is a robust platform that enables seamless communication and collaboration. Acquired by Salesforce in 2021 for £27.7 billion, Slack has become an integral part of Salesforce’s Customer 360 platform, enhancing its capabilities further. Slack is consistently rated as one of the top communication platforms in the market, praised for its user-friendly interface and powerful integration capabilities. Launched a year ago by Laurence Fitch and Jacob Campbell, ex-Slack executives, Bryd aims to address the lack of dedicated Slack-certified partners globally.

Solving the Slack Utilisation Challenge

Bryd was founded with a clear vision: to unlock the full potential of Slack. Working directly at Slack and seeing how it was deployed internally, the founders had an unparalleled understanding of what the platform can really do when implemented and rolled out thoughtfully and intentionally. As Slack evolves into a robust AI-enabled productivity platform with new features like Slack Lists, Canvas, and native AI, it presents an opportunity for companies to consolidate tools, reduce costs, and streamline operations. Despite these advancements, many users still perceive Slack primarily as a messaging tool, missing out on its comprehensive functionality and integration capabilities with existing toolsets.

"Our mission is to redefine how businesses view and utilise Slack, transforming it from a simple messaging tool to a comprehensive productivity platform," said Laurence Fitch, Co-Founder of Bryd. "This funding will allow us to expand our footprint, services, and product roadmap, helping even more companies globally unlock Slack's full potential."

Bryd addresses these gaps through a suite of specialised Slack services and tech:

  • Advisory and Professional Services: Expert guidance to help businesses maximise Slack's capabilities and integration into their technology stack.
  • Managed Services: Comprehensive support and management for seamless ongoing Slack operations and rolling out Slack-specific use cases across the business.
  • Bespoke Slack Applications: Tailored Slack SaaS applications to meet unique business needs that can be deployed on-premise or cloud-hosted by Bryd.

Global Traction and Impact

In just a short span, Bryd, founded in Singapore, has established a formidable global presence, serving customers in 25 countries and managing large projects that solve complex multi-faceted challenges. These encompass Slack consulting, training, implementation, support, and application/ custom development. This worldwide traction underscores the significant demand for Bryd's expertise and solutions, with clients including January Capital (Singapore), Pavilion (United States), and Kaizen Gaming (Greece).

With the recent infusion of funding, Bryd is poised to accelerate its growth trajectory. The company is expanding operations from its headquarters in Singapore with strategic hires, including ex-Slack go-to-market (GTM) experts Jack Ardagh in London and Sara Dillon in New York, to drive business expansion and partnerships in the EMEA & the Americas.

According to recent research by Slack, 77% of workers believe that AI will play a significant role in improving productivity at work. Additionally, 90% of executives are already exploring or implementing AI solutions to enhance their business operations. Bryd's focus on integrating both native and third-party AI systems into Slack aligns perfectly with this trend, ensuring that businesses can stay ahead of the productivity curve.

Furthermore, the Slack State of Work 2023 report highlights that 84% of workers feel more productive when they have flexible working hybrid conditions enabled by collaborative tools like Slack. Bryd's services are designed to optimise Slack's capabilities, supporting this shift towards more adaptable and efficient work hybrid environments in globally dispersed teams.

Innovative Applications for Enhanced Productivity

Bryd has recently launched its first bespoke SaaS application on the Slack app store, an automated Onboarding App. Streamlining the onboarding process for new employees by automating steps like paperwork, account setup, and access to essential resources. This app includes task checklists, welcome messages, Slack training, and introductions to team members, ensuring a smooth integration into the company's workflow and culture.

Looking Ahead

Bryd plans to continue evolving its product roadmap, releasing new services and applications to meet the ever-growing needs of its customers. The company is committed to scaling its team globally, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovation and excellence in the Slack ecosystem while expanding its capabilities to deliver consulting and implementation across the Salesforce suite and other productivity software.
