Connect44 Expands Sunrise NOC Services Across Switzerland

Like a Swiss timepiece, the partnership between Connect44 and Sunrise operates with precision, reliability and Swiss engineering principles. The two companies have expanded their collaboration through enhanced Fixed Network Operations Centre (NOC) services, applying the same meticulous attention to detail that characterises Swiss manufacturing to telecommunications infrastructure.
Francis Schmeer, Group CEO at Connect44, manages operations across 12 European markets and Malaysia from the company’s Swiss headquarters. “As Connect44 and Sunrise are both Swiss companies, we share certain important cultural values: quality, precision, innovation, timeliness and reliability,” Francis states.
The partnership, which began in 2014, now encompasses 24/7 network monitoring, automated fault detection and multilingual technical support delivered with the exacting standards expected in Swiss business culture.
Connect44 Fixed NOC services enhance Sunrise network stability
Connect44 operates its Fixed NOC through a Delivery Operations Centre that continuously monitors Sunrise’s network infrastructure. The multilingual team addresses incidents before they affect customer experience, using AI, automation and analytics tools for fault detection and ticket resolution.
“At Connect44, our Fixed NOC plays a central role in supporting Sunrise’s network stability and customer satisfaction,” Francis explains. “We’ve built a highly specialised, multilingual NOC team operating 24/7 from our Delivery Operations Centre. This setup allows us to monitor, manage and troubleshoot network events in real time – proactively addressing issues before they impact customers.”
Connect44’s teams work directly with Sunrise’s engineering staff to resolve incidents and implement preventive measures, focusing on reducing repair times and increasing network availability.
“For Sunrise, that means improved uptime, faster incident resolution and consistent service quality,” Francis notes. “We integrate deeply with their operational processes, ensuring seamless communication and escalation paths.”
The partnership has accelerated Connect44’s development of automation technologies and AI applications, with technical teams from both companies participating in joint development projects focused on network automation and predictive analytics.
“Our talent strategy is a key driver of co-innovation with Sunrise, especially as we continue to develop further automation and AI technologies,” Francis states. “At Connect44, we invest heavily in recruiting, training and retaining top-tier NOC engineers who bring deep technical expertise.”
Connect44 adapts Swiss operations for multilingual market requirements
Switzerland’s telecommunications market requires service providers to operate in multiple languages and adapt to regional requirements. As a result, Connect44 has management and technical staff with language skills in German, French and Italian to support Sunrise’s customer base across Swiss regions.
“Switzerland is a unique environment with high expectations around precision, quality, and multilingual communication,” Francis explains. “That’s why we build teams that are not only technically skilled but also culturally aligned – fluent in local languages and deeply familiar with Swiss operational standards.”
Connect44’s Swiss operations incorporate practices from its international markets whilst adhering to local regulatory requirements. Technical teams undergo training on Swiss-specific network standards and regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance.
“We also try to bring new learnings and best practices from outside of Switzerland that may be relevant for the Swiss market,” Francis concludes.
