Glossophobia, otherwise known as the fear of public speaking, is amongst the most common phobias in the world. According to researchers, glossophobia affects around 75% of the population to some degree.

If you work in an office, you'll likely be all too familiar with this particular form of anxiety. According to Prezi, a tech company that specialises in presentation software, around 20% of all people would do anything to avoid giving a presentation at work, including feigning illness.

However, work presentations may not be the object of worker dread for much longer, thanks to Fujitsu.

The Japanese tech giant is rolling out its AI Auto Presentation tool for trials this month, a technology that allowing users to breathe easier whilst an AI avatar presents for them.

How Fujitsu's Kozuchi AI works

Fujitsu's new AI model is known as 'Kozuchi', which translates roughly to 'magic hammer' in English. According to Japanese legends, the Kozuchi was wielded by the deity Daikokuten, who used it to wish for anything he desired.

While Fujitsu's software isn't quite so omnipotent, it has the potential to transform the corporate world.

Kozuchi can present in more than 30 languages and is integrated into Microsoft's Copilot system, making it easily accessible for millions of users worldwide.

Aside from helping users to present publicly, Kozuchi can also aid them in creating presentations to begin with, helping them to solve queries, design content and do research.

The platform allows users to design personalised AI avatars that can mirror their own unique appearance and voice.

It's a feature that is designed to be accessible and intuitive to all users, regardless of their tech skills.

Though the product is still in its trialling phase, Fujitsu expects that future updates will help to integrate Kozuchi directly into Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint.
