As the countdown to GITEX Global 2024 continues, the world's largest technology and startup event is gearing up to showcase groundbreaking innovations and foster strategic partnerships. Scheduled for 14-18 October at the Dubai World Trade Centre, this year’s edition promises to be a melting pot of ideas, bringing together industry leaders, innovators and policymakers from across the globe.

The event organisers have unveiled a host of new features for the 44th edition, including the launch of GITEX Editions, a platform designed to accelerate growth and global governance for high-potential companies. This initiative aligns with Dubai's ambitious goal of nurturing 30 startup unicorns by 2030, further cementing the emirate's position as a global tech hub.

GITEX Editions will feature an impressive lineup of speakers from fast-growing startups across eight countries. Among them is Fabrizio del Maffeo, Co-Founder, CEO, and Board Member of Axelera AI, a Netherlands-based company backed by Samsung and the European Innovation Council (EIC). Valued at US$500 million, Axelera AI specialises in developing Gen AI infrastructure and edge computing solutions.

The diversity of GITEX Editions’ speaker roster reflects the event’s comprehensive approach to technology and innovation. From sustainable biotech with Dr Mazen Rizk of Infinite Roots to quantum computing with Dr Joseph Fitzsimons of Horizon Quantum Computing, the programme covers a wide spectrum of emerging technologies that are shaping the future of various industries.

Cybersecurity conference programme

Making their GITEX debut are Chenxi Wang, Managing General Partner of Fortune 500 fund Rain Capital, and Ekaterina Serban, Vice President of Privacy and Information Security at Bosch.

Wang, named as a top international cyber investor by Fortune magazine, will join global VCs and investment partners to discuss the driving forces behind the increasing business investments in advanced security solutions. Serban will participate in a panel discussion with CISOs and CIOs, focusing on corporate board engagement strategies for cybersecurity adoption.
