The advancement of AI technologies is surging demand for sophisticated cloud computing solutions that can support complex AI workloads, driving cloud providers to enhance their offerings and forge strategic partnerships to stay competitive in the global market

Alibaba Cloud has emerged with solutions in this space by announcing a series of new initiatives and partnerships aimed at expanding its AI capabilities and global reach.

It has revamped its AI-focused partner ecosystem plan, dubbed the "Alibaba Cloud Partner Rainforest Plan", at its annual Partner Summit.

This initiative includes an AI partner accelerator program, an enhanced incentive program and a revitalised global strategy for service partners.

The company aims to foster the growth of global partners and accelerate the development and deployment of AI and cloud computing solutions for businesses across various industries worldwide.

This development comes as Alibaba Cloud reports significant growth in its AI services, with its Gen AI platform, Model Studio, attracting over 300,000 customers, up from 90,000 in May.

This rapid increase in adoption highlights the growing appetite for AI technologies among businesses of all sizes and across various sectors.

Alibaba Cloud’s new AI-focused programs

Alibaba Cloud has introduced several new programs to support its AI-driven growth strategy.

AI Alliance Accelerator Program

The AI Alliance Accelerator Program aims to build a dedicated AI partner ecosystem by collaborating with 50 AI technology partners and 50 channel partners by 2025.

This program offers enhanced technical support, expanded distribution channels and collaborative go-to-market resources for AI technology partners.

Revitalised Service Partner Program

The company has also launched the Revitalised Service Partner Program, which focuses on cultivating new service partners and upskilling existing ones.

This initiative aims to equip partners with consulting, implementation and managed services capabilities, enabling them to diversify their revenue streams.

Synergistic Incentive Program

Additionally, Alibaba Cloud has introduced the Synergistic Incentive Program, designed to strengthen collaboration between global technology partners and channel partners.

This program aims to create new revenue opportunities for technology partners while expanding the product portfolio available to channel partners.

Global and regional partnerships

Alibaba Cloud is additionally expanding its collaborations with global and regional partners to provide AI-supported cloud solutions across various markets.

Indonesia

In Indonesia, the company has partnered with Telkom Indonesia to offer innovative AI-supported cloud solutions and develop digital talent.

This partnership aims to address the growing need for digital skills in Indonesia and support the country's vision for digital transformation.

Japan

In Japan, Alibaba Cloud has joined forces with Securai, a Japanese cloud services and information security solutions provider, to meet the growing demand for digital transformation among Japanese businesses.

The partnership will focus on localizing Alibaba Cloud's Zstack service for the Japanese market.

Thailand

In Thailand, Alibaba Cloud has signed a memorandum of understanding with Yell Group, a leading creative digital company, to address the increasing demand for generative AI in the creative media industry.

This collaboration aims to introduce Alibaba Cloud's media solutions to foster innovation in the sector.

Industry-specific applications

Alibaba Cloud's expansion extends beyond geographical boundaries, reaching into various industry verticals.

Automotive

In the automotive sector, the company has partnered with Nvidia to develop a large multimodal model solution for enhancing in-car voice assistants.

Gaming

The gaming industry has also benefited from Alibaba Cloud's infrastructure support.

The company provided crucial services to miHoYo, a Chinese video game developer, in launching its new game "Zenless Zone Zero.”

Alibaba Cloud's scalable infrastructure managed high server loads and processed large volumes of game data, facilitating a smooth launch for a game that received nearly 50 million pre-beta registrations.

Travel

In the travel sector, Alibaba Cloud is supporting Atlas, a Singapore-based travel technology provider, by powering its digital chatbot with AI services.
