Alteryx has announced new partnership to upskill people in data and analytics
With digital leaders citing skills shortages as a major business obstacle, Alteryx has announced partnerships to tackle the data and analytics skills gap

In a data-driven world, the demand for skilled analysts is skyrocketing at an unprecedented rate. As companies increasingly rely on data to drive strategic decisions and gain a competitive edge, the shortage of professionals with data and analytics capabilities has created a huge need for employees who understand the power that data holds when tackling complex business problems.

A recent study reveals that over half of digital leaders globally cite skills shortages as a major obstacle to keeping up with the pace of change. According to Nash Squared's annual Digital Leadership Report, the most in-demand skills are big data, analytics, and data engineering, with 51% of leaders planning to increase headcount in these areas within the next year.

Recognising this urgent need, Alteryx – a leader in AI for enterprise analytics – is on a mission to bring data analytics skills to all. Through its SparkED programme, Alteryx aims to empower all learners to question, understand and solve problems with data, in every field of study and in preparation for any industry.

Now, Alteryx has announced that it has joined forces with data and AI learning platform DataCamp and Women in Data, a global community of data leaders, practitioners, and learners with a mission to increase diversity in data careers, to enable greater reach for Alteryx SparkED, which has empowered more than 170,000 learners globally and works with more than 1,200 academic institutions across 55 countries.

Olivia Duane Adams, Alteryx Co-founder and Chief Advocacy Officer, underscores the urgency to tackle the data and analytics talent gap: “The growing talent gap in the data and analytics space is impacting our current and prospective customers. At the same time, data-driven decision-making is increasingly critical to businesses and organisations across the spectrum.

“We have a responsibility to attract diverse groups of learners into the analytics space. That’s why we are pleased to partner with DataCamp and Women in Data. Working together, we can impact the workforce needs of today and for the future.”

Accelerating data and analytics learning

Through its partnership with DataCamp, Alteryx provides unlimited access to expert-led, interactive learning modules tailored to its platform. This collaboration empowers learners of all backgrounds to master modern data analytics skills, regardless of their previous technical expertise. No longer is a lack of experience a barrier to entry.

“Partnering with Alteryx underscores our commitment to democratising analytics education

to the 14+ million learners and 5,000+ organisations using DataCamp every day,” says Jonathan Cornelissen, DataCamp’s Co-founder and CEO. “Together with Alteryx, we're combining their deep analytics capabilities and our unique learning experience to accelerate data fluency for everyone—and I'm really excited for what the future holds for our partnership."

Increasing diversity in data analytics

With only one in five data scientists today identifying as women, according to Zippia, in collaboration with Women in Data Alteryx is donating 200 scholarships, providing women with access to its SparkED curriculum, facilitated by DataCamp, and a vibrant network of over 60,000 data professionals.

"I am thrilled about our partnership with Alteryx. This collaboration is a significant step towards our shared mission of increasing diversity in data careers and empowering more women to thrive in the field of data science and AI”, said Sadie St. Lawrence, Founder and CEO of Women in Data. “By providing access to Alteryx curriculum and learning opportunities, we are equipping women with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in this rapidly growing industry. Together with Alteryx, we are committed to creating a more inclusive future where women are well-represented and can make their mark in the world of data and AI."
