How Claritas Rx is Transforming Data Into Patient Insights

The pathway from drug development to patient access remains one of healthcare’s most persistent challenges. As therapies become increasingly sophisticated, so does the complexity of ensuring treatments reach the right patients at the right time.
Specialty and Rare Disease data experts at Claritas Rx have been addressing this challenge since 2011, when it began improving how biopharmaceutical manufacturers understand their specialty product performance. The company has evolved from a small-channel data consultancy to a leader in patient-level data integration and analytics, with a client base that spans emerging biotechnology companies launching first specialty products to global manufacturers with established portfolios.
This data-driven approach has transformed how patient journeys are understood through the company’s work with global pharmaceutical company Servier. What began in 2020 as a focused collaboration on two oncology drugs has grown into a partnership spanning Servier’s entire cancer treatment portfolio.
Athena Uzzo, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience at Claritas Rx, describes the relationship as “a collaborative partnership” built around answering Servier’s specific business questions.
“We handle the data aggregation and work with all of their partners across those brands, and then also deliver the analytics insights,” she says.
Claritas Rx was founded with a specific mission. “Our company started with the mission to ensure that patients with chronic and life-threatening diseases receive the support that enables the greatest benefit from their therapy,” Athena explains.
The Claritas Rx data model provides actionable insights for Servier teams.
The core differentiation for Claritas Rx comes from its approach to data integration. “Our biggest capability is bringing together diverse data sources and connecting them to provide actionable insights for field and pharmacy teams that directly impact a patient’s access to therapy,” Athena describes.
This flexibility extends beyond data integration to how information is presented. “We’re able to do this for customers that have a single drug on the market, as well as for customers that have multiple brands where we look at brand and disease specific insights,” she notes.
A key element centres on longitudinal data tracking patients over time. “Thanks to the extensive array of data sources we integrate, our specialty lies in delivering enriched longitudinal patient-level data.”
Servier partnership moves towards predictive healthcare modelling
The collaboration with Servier is now entering a phase focused on more sophisticated analytical approaches. As Athena explains, future developments will concentrate on anticipating access challenges before they materialise.
“We’re expanding our analytics and leveraging predictive to give teams insights into where patients will struggle with therapy access before it happens,” she says.
This shift towards predictive capabilities represents a parallel to broader healthcare trends. As treatments become more personalised, Claritas Rx aims to make the support systems equally tailored to individual patient circumstances.
“We’re living in an era of personalised medicine and personalised healthcare options. The access to therapy is also personalised,” Athena says. “What we’re looking to achieve next is more prescriptive: not just standardised insights for the entire population, but giving manufacturers and pharmacies insights into what specific patients need in terms of their access to therapy.”
