As businesses increasingly demand more secure and reliable connectivity solutions than public networks can provide, private 5G offers something compelling
NTT DATA and Eurofiber launch Connected Workspace managed service, targeting Dutch businesses seeking private 5G networks without major upfront investment

The private 5G revolution is gaining momentum and NTT DATA has just thrown its considerable weight behind the movement.

The global technology services giant has teamed up with Netherlands-based infrastructure provider Eurofiber to launch Connected Workspace, a managed service that promises to make private 5G networks accessible to businesses of all sizes.

It's a partnership that makes perfect sense on paper. NTT DATA brings its expertise in wireless network implementation and security, while Eurofiber provides the robust data centre infrastructure that will host these private networks.

"This collaboration allows us to offer our clients private wireless connections of the highest possible quality," says Paul Naastepad, Managing Director of Eurofiber Netherlands.

Breaking down barriers

What sets Connected Workspace apart is its approach to market entry.

Rather than demanding substantial upfront investments that have traditionally kept smaller businesses out of the private 5G game, the service operates on a monthly subscription model.

It's the kind of democratising move that could accelerate private 5G adoption across the Dutch market.

Businesses can access their own dedicated networks within six months, complete with the high stability, scalability and speed that private 5G promises.

"By combining our open digital infrastructure with NTT DATA's expertise and track record in private 5G solutions, we enable secure, reliable and scalable connectivity for businesses of all sizes," Paul says.

The timing couldn't be better. As businesses increasingly demand more secure and reliable connectivity solutions than public networks can provide, private 5G offers something compelling: complete control over data and network performance.

Behind the infrastructure

Eurofiber isn't starting from scratch. The company already operates an impressive 70,500km fibre optic network spanning four European countries, supported by 10 data centres.

This existing infrastructure will host the new private 5G service, giving clients access to NTT DATA's application ecosystem alongside their dedicated connectivity.

"We are incredibly pleased to partner with Eurofiber to deliver this new managed service that enables businesses to unlock their full potential," says Jeroen van Hamersveld, Managing Director at NTT DATA in the Netherlands.

A strategic set of partnerships

Eurofiber's approach to private 5G reveals something interesting about the current market dynamics.

Rather than going it alone, the company has been building a network of strategic partnerships.

Last year's Mobile World Congress saw Eurofiber announce a collaboration with Nokia for Private 5G solutions.

Now, with NTT DATA in the mix, the company is positioning itself as an orchestrator of specialised services from various technology providers.

"Our combined expertise provides clients with the most advanced and reliable private network solutions, allowing them to work more flexibly and efficiently," Jeroen explains.

Momentum in the market

The numbers behind NTT DATA tell a story of serious market presence.

The US$30bn company serves 75% of Fortune Global 100 companies and operates across more than 50 countries.

As part of NTT Group, which invests over US$3.6bn annually in research and development, the company has the resources to make a real impact in the private 5G space.

Eurofiber's customer base of companies, government bodies and non-profit organisations provides a ready-made market for Connected Workspace when it launches in September 2025.

The service represents more than just another product launch. It's a signal that private 5G is moving from experimental technology to mainstream business tool.

For industries requiring low latency and high security, the appeal is obvious.

The question now is whether the subscription model will prove compelling enough to drive widespread adoption.

If NTT DATA and Eurofiber have got their positioning right, Connected Workspace could mark a turning point for private 5G in the Netherlands.
