Job From: Managing Director, UK at Equinix

Job To: President, EMEA at Equinix

Equinix, the global digital infrastructure company, has appointed Bruce Owen as President of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Bruce, who will be based in London, succeeds Eugene Bergen, who retired earlier in 2024 after serving as EMEA President since 2019.

Bruce moves to the role from his position as UK Managing Director, where he oversaw operations of 14 data centre facilities from London to Manchester, representing more than 25% of the region's revenue. In his new position, he will report to Chief Business Officer Jon Lin.

The appointment marks a continuation of Bruce's fourteen-year tenure at Equinix, which began in 2010 when he joined the EMEA Corporate Development and Finance team. In 2013, he relocated to California, where he held several global leadership positions including head of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis and Chief of Staff to the CEO. He also established the company's Global Community & Belonging team and launched the Equinix Foundation.

Jon Lin, Chief Business Officer at Equinix, says: "Bruce has been an exceptional leader at Equinix since 2010, driving growth, innovation, and cultural impact through his work in the U.K. and the U.S."

Bruce's appointment comes at a time when digital infrastructure plays an increasingly central role in global economies. In his new role, he will focus on management, strategy and growth plans for Equinix across the EMEA region, addressing customer and partner requirements in the data centre sector.

Bruce says: "This region is crucial for our company, with global and local customers rapidly digitizing and expanding across our platform."
