Lenovo, the global technology hardware and solutions manufacturer, has appointed Matt Dobrodziej as President of its Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) operations.

Dobrodziej succeeds Francois Bornibus, who has led Lenovo's EMEA business since 2017. During Bornibus's tenure, Lenovo expanded beyond its traditional PC manufacturing base into services and solutions, while building its infrastructure business and mobile division. Under his leadership, Lenovo secured the top position in EMEA PC market share, maintaining this position for over two years. Bornibus will remain with Lenovo temporarily to facilitate the leadership transition.

Dobrodziej moves to Lenovo from semiconductor manufacturer Lattice Semiconductor, where he held the position of Corporate Vice President. His previous experience includes a decade at AMD, where he managed global strategic accounts. In his new role, he will report to Matt Zielinski, EVP and President of International Markets at Lenovo.

Matt Zielinski says "Matt's extensive experience leading global teams, combined with his strategic insight, will help drive Lenovo's transformation beyond hardware to a comprehensive solutions, services, and sales organisation."

Dobrodziej says "The transformative potential of AI offers unprecedented opportunities to reshape business and society, and Lenovo is uniquely positioned to lead in this space."

The appointment comes as Lenovo continues its strategic shift from hardware manufacturing to providing integrated technology solutions. In his new role, Dobrodziej will oversee Lenovo's operations across the EMEA region, which represents a significant market for the company's portfolio of products, services and solutions.

The EMEA technology market presents opportunities for growth in enterprise solutions, particularly as organisations invest in artificial intelligence infrastructure and digital transformation initiatives. Lenovo's position in this market encompasses hardware manufacturing, technology services, and infrastructure solutions
