TCS and Google Cloud: AI Becomes a Cybersecurity Lifeline

These solutions are designed to enhance threat detection and response capabilities of businesses
TCS partners with Google Cloud to launch a range of AI-powered cybersecurity solutions to help businesses secure their systems against advanced threats

Both TCS and Google Cloud have been collaborating for around a decade as they help businesses transform their operations and services via a range of technologies. Now, both organisations are partnering to offer two solutions - TCS Managed Detection and Response solution and TCS Secure Cloud Foundation solution.

These solutions are designed to enhance threat detection and response capabilities of businesses, even in non-cloud environments. As a result, TCS customers should be able to create forward-looking and secure businesses.

Strengthening cyber resilience for enterprises in this way aims to empower those across multiple industries with domain-focused innovation with cutting-edge technologies from both TCS and Google Cloud.

“Businesses are rapidly transforming and they must secure their transformation journey to grow with confidence,” explains Ganesa Subramanian, VP and Global Head, Cybersecurity Business Group at TCS. “The rise of Generative AI (Gen AI) further underscores the need to modernise cybersecurity and strengthen cyber resilience.”

Defending against AI with AI

Research in 2024 indicates that the cyber threat landscape only continues to evolve, particularly as malicious actors are employing more sophisticated tactics - like AI - to exploit businesses and individual users. As a result, organisations are being advised to adapt to protect themselves from growing threats.

Part of this adaptation is with AI. As the technology is increasing the volume and impact of cyberattacks already, utilising the technology to defend against these complex threats is being proposed as a viable solution within the cybersecurity sector.

Powered by the Google Security Operations platform, the TCS Managed Detection and Response (MDR) aims to enable security teams to reduce the time to detect and respond to threats. It combines the hyperscaler’s advanced threat detection capabilities with’ contextual knowledge from TCS to enable continuous security monitoring and 24/7 response.

Likewise, the TCS Secure Cloud Foundation will leverage Google Cloud’s security solutions to strengthen cloud security posture and governance across single, multi and hybrid cloud environments by embedding security and compliance guardrails throughout the DevSecOps lifecycle.

Leveraging AI, machine learning, and automation, the solution will continuously monitor risk, identify deviations and recommend remedial actions to cybersecurity professionals.

“This partnership brings together the best of capabilities, contextual knowledge, and accelerators from TCS and Google Cloud to holistically protect the digital estates of enterprise customers, to help them be future-ready, cyber resilient businesses,” Ganesa says.

Bolstering enterprise threat intelligence

TCS has already deployed both solutions successfully for several of its clients. For example, the Secure Cloud Foundation solution has assisted a global bank headquartered in Germany in automating, identifying, and deploying over 800 build-time and runtime security policies, ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.

The company has received numerous recognitions from Google Cloud previously, including Google Cloud Global Expansion Partner of the Year, Google Cloud Specialization Partner of the Year - Data Management and Google Cloud Talent Development Partner of the Year - Asia Pacific.

TCS - the numbers:
  • 16,000+ cybersecurity professionals
  • Helps 600 enterprises improve their security posture
  • 15+ cybersecurity delivery centres worldwide

The organisation’s cybersecurity offerings range from consulting, implementation and managed security services across detection and response, identity and access management, attack surface management, governance, risk and compliance, data privacy and protection, digital forensics and incident response, cloud security and cyber physical security.

Nidhi Srivastava, Vice President and Executive Champion for Google Cloud at TCS comments: “TCS’ expanded partnership with Google Cloud provides two unique, AI-powered, cross-industry, enterprise solutions to help our clients combat advanced cybersecurity threats. Our deep industry knowledge, comprehensive portfolio, and ability to scale on Google Cloud enables us to rapidly create value for our customers.”

For the past decade, both TCS and Google Cloud have assisted a range of global enterprises transform their businesses with cloud technology. This next phase of their partnership will focus on leveraging Google Cloud’s AI-powered security portfolio across threat intelligence, security operations and cloud security

Both companies will help their clients secure their cloud transformation journeys by offering tailored solutions and local expertise to ensure regulatory compliance.

“TCS and Google Cloud have partnered for many years to help customers harness the power of the cloud and AI to grow and transform their business,” says Peter Bailey, Vice President and General Manager of Security Operations at Google Cloud.

“The integration of Google Security Operations into TCS MDR and Secure Cloud Foundation solutions is a natural evolution of this partnership - enabling TCS and their customers to leverage Google SecOps planet-level scalability, searchability, integrated and AI-assisted investigation and response workflows, and applied Mandiant Threat Intelligence.

“Together, we can help customer organisations dramatically improve their security posture and ability to respond to threats in real time.”
