Facing low visibility in the international data centre market, atNorth redefined its positioning through a rebrand centred on sustainability, environmental performance and Nordic advantage.

The campaign aligned with the growing global scrutiny on the environmental footprint of AI and digital infrastructure. 

atNorth’s data centres, powered by renewable energy and located in cooler Nordic climates, reduce the energy burden of high-performance computing while offering innovative heat reuse and carbon reduction strategies.

To capitalise on this, the company adopted a cloud-first, content-driven communications strategy built on thought leadership, media partnerships and case-led storytelling.

A revamped LinkedIn presence saw a significant growth in followers, while SEO and paid media tactics ensured atNorth ranked in the top five search positions for key data centre terms in its primary markets.

Visual identity updates reinforced the Nordic narrative, while collaboration with clients like BNP Paribas and Shearwater delivered concrete proof points of atNorth’s impact, achieving carbon reductions and cost savings by relocating data operations to Iceland.

By reshaping its message to reflect industry challenges — particularly around sustainability in digital infrastructure — atNorth has successfully shifted perceptions from a niche Icelandic operator to a credible Nordic leader in sustainable high-performance computing.

This demonstrates how values-led marketing can deliver measurable business outcomes in the cloud and AI economy.
