GSMA announces the winners of the 2019 Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards at Mobile World Congress

The Groupe Spéciale Mobile Association (GSMA) has revealed the winners of the 2019 Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The GLOMOs aim to showcase companies and individuals that are driving innovation in the ever-evolving mobile industry.
John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA, described the awards as “a testament to the incredible innovation and ingenuity shaping our industry.”

The award for Best Mobile Network Infrastructure went to Ericsson for its 5G high-band Massive MIMO whilst the award for Best Mobile Operator Service for Consumers was given to Sunrise & Huawei for the Sunrise 5G FWA service.
Elsewhere, Google gained the Disruptive Device Innovation Award for Google Night Sight, and the Samsung Galaxy Watch was commended as Best Wearable Mobile Technology.
The Green Mobile Award went to both GenCell Energy for its GenCell A5 Off-Grid and Telefonica for its 100% Renewable Energy Plan 2030.
Additionally, Nokia earned a 5G Leadership Award for Nokia 5G Future X, the first end-to-end 5G portfolio of solutions, software and services.
Turkcell CEO, Kaan Terzioğlu, also gained an accolade for Outstanding Contribution to the Mobile Industry.
The GSMA represents the interests of worldwide mobile operators, bringing together more than 750 operators with over 350 companies in the broader ecosystem including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies.
The awards were announced at the Mobile World Congress, which claims to be the "world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry".
