Dutch Asset management company Robeco has announced the launch of its new fund, Robeco Global FinTech Equities, that will look to invest in firms that benefit from the increasing digitisation of the global financial industry.

The Manager of Robeco New World Financial Equities, Patrick Lemmens will act as the Portfolio Manager of the fund, alongside Jeroen van Oerle, who stands as a member of Robeco’s Trends Investing team.

“I strongly believe that digital finance will open the way to 2 billion people who currently don’t manage their financial affairs, and that on-line payment methods will become mainstream, while cash becomes the exception. With the launch of this fund, we enable investors to gain exposure to and profit from the trend of increasing digitization.”

The fund will be diversified across the FinTech industry, with investments in both proven firms and startups in an attempt to ensure against risk elements.

The Trends Investing team manages approximately €3.2bn, giving some indication as to the amount of funding that will be available.
