About event:

With a focus on local telecommunication companies and verticals, Asia IoT Business Platform is a premier business event crafted by the industry for the industry, with the aim of addressing key issues facing the adoption of IoT technologies in Southeast Asia.

The program is dedicated to not only the education of stakeholders on the latest IoT developments in the local ASEAN markets, but also to the facilitation of business networking for international IoT solution providers with relevant prospective clients and partners in the local ASEAN markets.

Since its inception in 2013, the event has secured strong support from local governments and telecommunication companies alike. The 2017 series of events will focus more on the challenges and pain points that local enterprises face in adopting and deploying IoT technologies in their businesses.

Thailand is on the move to become ASEAN’s digital infrastructure hub by 2020. According to a Frost & Sullivan report, Thailand’s Internet of Things (IoT) spending in 2014 amounted to US$ 57.7 million, and it is forecast to increase by 1600% by 2020.

The government has also pushed for Thailand 4.0, an economic model aimed at pulling Thailand out of the middle-income trap and into the high-income range. Thailand 4.0 focuses on a “value-based economy,” marking a significant change in the country’s economy and production. One of the core elements of the Thailand 4.0 initiative is to transit to a knowledge-based economy, with an emphasis on research and development, science and technology, creative thinking, and innovation.

To further boost the country’s competitiveness, Thailand is also pushing its Smart Thailand project, which according to Anudith Nakornthap, Thailand’s ICT minister, will further empower local stakeholders in different business sectors. Thailand recently announced a broadband plan which aims to increase its reach from 33% to 80% of the population in the next three years, reaching 95% in 2020.

The upcoming Asia IoT Business Platform in Thailand will explore the latest IoT developments in the country and understand the needs of enterprise buyers and partners in deploying IoT in their businesses. This is a dynamic industry program that should not be missed if you want to understand more about enterprise digital transformation and IoT in Thailand, understand businesses’ needs and challenges in adopting IoT, and establish important connections that will benefit you and your organisation in many ways.
