SASR’s Bradley Cooper explains how the companies uses technology to deliver staff solutions across the whole of the US

In an era dominated by technological advancements, SASR Workforce Solutions stands out by seamlessly blending innovation with a personalised approach to staffing.

Catering to various sectors, from retail to supply chain, SASR leverages cutting-edge technology to transform the staffing industry.

Technological transformation

At the helm of SASR's technological evolution is Bradley Cooper, the Associate Vice President of Technology.

With seven years of experience across various roles within the company, Bradley brings a holistic understanding to his position. He emphasises the importance of understanding the core business and user challenges.

"Being able to work across the organisation and the different departments like operations, recruiting and HR gave me a strong foundation to understand the core business and the challenges that the internal and field employee users have with our technology," he explains.

Under Bradley’s leadership, SASR has implemented a range of solutions to optimise internal operations and enhance user experience.

His focus extends beyond vendor management, however, encompassing digital transformation, software partner acquisition and business security.

SASR's unique approach to staffing

Established in 2003, SASR specialises in high-volume staffing for projects such as new store setups, remodels, and merchandising resets.

The company's ability to provide skilled teams, nationwide for tasks like fixture installations and seasonal product launches sets it apart in the industry.

"We really like to think of our clients as having unique workforce challenges that we have customised solutions that we can deliver to them nationwide," Bradley explains.

SASR's expertise also spans various retail sub-industries, including large retail stores, home improvement shops, pharmacies, convenience stores, grocery stores and warehouse

Over the past eight years, SASR has undergone a significant transformation, shifting from on-demand staffing with homegrown technology to a comprehensive digital ecosystem. The company now relies on three primary solutions:

  1. Candidate Lifecycle Management

  2. Job Management and Timekeeping

  3. HRIS and Payroll

Together, SASR uses these to streamline the recruitment process, simplify employee scheduling and confirm attendance, all from its HQ in North Carolina.

Such technological solutions have dramatically improved operational efficiency and compliance management.

"From a payroll and compliance perspective, having that native and easy-to-use app allows us to spend more time auditing schedules  versus entering employees’ time, which across the US you have different state laws that handle overtime, lunch and other pay related policies,," says Bradley.

Additionally, SASR utilises a proprietary hotel lodging application, setting them apart in the industry.

The power of partnerships

SASR's success is bolstered by strong complimentary partnerships, particularly with software company Tizbi.

SASR was originally using its homegrown solutions before its partnership with Tizbi. Eight years and many successful projects later, Tizbi stands as one of SASR’s firmest partners.

"When we bring them requirements, if it's a whole new idea of a technology solution or if it's just a small change within one of the products, they're immediately able to help us understand the best way for them to go about executing it."

SASR proudly showcases its awards, reflecting excellence in staffing and service

Adapting to industry changes

As the retail landscape evolves, SASR is positioning itself to meet changing requirements.

The company is adapting to trends such as self-checkouts,  radio-frequency identification (RFID) product tagging and digital shelf tagging technology, and the growth of e-commerce, particularly the "click and collect" trend through the training of its staff sent out to the jobs.

Equally, SASR intends to now focus on stabilising and enhancing its recently implemented technologies.

For the future, the company is keeping a close eye on emerging trends, particularly the impact of Gen AI on the staffing industry.

"That's probably the biggest change that we're going to see across the staffing industry,” Bradley explains. “Regardless of what vertical that you're in and then how that regulatory environment's going to shape that and what you're allowed to do and not to do."

It’s this blend of technology and human touch that positions SASR to revolutionise the staffing industry.

By focusing on customised solutions, data-driven decision-making, and continuous technological enhancement, SASR is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of retailers and workers alike.
