CGI Names Tim Hurlebaus as New President and CEO

CGI has officially announced a leadership transition, appointing Tim Hurlebaus as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Tim, who also joins the Board of Directors, steps into the role following his successful tenure as President and Chief Operating Officer.
He succeeds François Boulanger, who is retiring after a distinguished 30-year career with the company.
âIt has been an honour to lead CGI and represent the world-class work of our talented team,â François says.
âAfter nearly 40 years in the IT services industry â 30 of which have been with CGI â I look forward to a new chapter in retirement.â
Having overseen operations in the US, UK and Australia â regions that generate nearly 50% of CGIâs annual revenue â Tim brings a wealth of operational expertise to the position.
His journey with the firm began as a developer and consultant, eventually leading to decade-long membership on the senior executive team where he helped architect CGIâs global growth strategy.
Executive Chair of the Board, Julie Godin, emphasised Timâs readiness for the current technological landscape: âWith more than 35 years of experience in IT consulting services, Tim has been a champion of CGIâs client proximity model, ownership culture and values.
âHe led the profitable growth of some of CGIâs largest operations while partnering with clients around the world to deliver on their most complex digital initiatives.
âToday, powerful technologies such as AI are creating significant opportunities to help clients drive step-change transformation.
âTim has the leadership track record as well as the combination of industry knowledge and technology expertise in client delivery that will guide CGIâs growth in this AI-first era.
âOn behalf of the board, we congratulate Tim and look forward to building whatâs next for our company and for each of our stakeholders.â
Leveraging a legacy of trust in an AI era
Reflecting on the firmâs trajectory, Tim highlighted the importance of CGIâs legacy as it navigates AI.
âI want to thank Serge, Julie and the Board of Directors for their confidence,â Tim says.
âAs AI continues to create tremendous opportunities for industry transformation, CGI is well positioned to drive growth as we partner with clients to re-engineer how value is created and how work gets done.
âFor over 50 years, clients have trusted CGI to deliver their most complex, mission-critical projects.
âIn the AI era, this heritage of trust matters more than ever as we help clients turn the promise and potential of technology into tangible business results.
âI am honoured to work together with our talented team as we create the next phase of CGIâs extraordinary journey.â
As CGI embarks on this new chapter, the transition signals a continued focus on innovation and stakeholder value, leveraging Timâs deep institutional knowledge to maintain the companyâs global market leadership.
