OQC, Digital Realty and NVIDIA unveil the first Quantum-AI data centre in New York, combining superconducting quantum computing with AI supercomputing

Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) and Digital Realty have unveiled the first Quantum-AI data centre in New York City, developed in collaboration with Nvidia.

Based at Digital Realty’s JFK10 facility, the site is powered by NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips and combines OQC’s superconducting quantum hardware with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform.

The project is positioned as a flagship initiative of the UK–US technology trade partnership, announced by President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The facility hosts OQC’s GENESIS quantum computer, marking the first deployment of such a system in New York City.

Integrated into Digital Realty’s global PlatformDIGITAL, the infrastructure is engineered to deliver secure, interconnected hybrid workloads for industries including finance and security.

OQC anticipates that future GENESIS systems will incorporate NVIDIA technology as standard, extending its earlier collaboration on the NVIDIA CUDA-Q platform, which enables developers to design and run hybrid quantum-AI applications.

Gerald Mullally, CEO of OQC

“This Quantum-AI Data Centre demonstrates how quantum can drive the AI revolution - securely, practically and at scale - while strengthening the UK–US technology alliance,” says Gerald Mullally, CEO of OQC.

“Leveraging Digital Realty’s infrastructure and NVIDIA supercomputing, we are redefining enterprise computing for finance and security.”

Delivering secure infrastructure at scale

“Digital Realty’s mission has always been to enable the world’s most innovative technologies by providing secure, interconnected infrastructure at global scale,” says Andy Power, President and Chief Executive Officer of Digital Realty.

“By working with OQC, we’re using NVIDIA supercomputing to make quantum-AI directly accessible in one of the world’s most important data hubs - empowering enterprises and governments to unlock new levels of performance and resilience.”

The partners highlight that the quantum-AI integration eliminates geographical and infrastructure barriers, enabling enterprises to access a unified environment for AI model training, efficient data generation and the development of advanced security applications.

The New York deployment is positioned as a launchpad for large-scale enterprise adoption of hybrid computing.

National impact and UK–US collaboration

Patrick Vallance, UK Science Minister, says: “Quantum computing could transform everything - from speeding up drug discovery to supercharging clean energy so we can cut bills.

“The economic prize is enormous, with £212bn (US$289bn) expected to flow into the UK economy by 2045 and tens of thousands of high-skilled jobs on offer

“OQC’s launch of the first quantum computer in New York City showcases British tech excellence and strengthens our transatlantic ties. And the industry’s first quantum-AI data centre will put British innovation at the heart of next-gen computing - delivering speed, scale and security to tackle problems today’s tech is yet to grasp.”

The project is framed as a key component of the UK–US technology alliance, positioning quantum and AI infrastructure as a cornerstone for secure digital economies.

It also underscores how British quantum expertise can be scaled in the US through partnerships with major technology companies.

Applications across finance, security and AI

The Quantum-AI Data Centre is built to serve industries where advanced computing delivers immediate value.

In finance, the platform supports faster and more precise risk modelling, fraud detection, portfolio optimisation, and derivatives pricing.

Within security, potential applications include advanced material simulation, logistics optimisation and complex decision-making in uncertain environments.

Quantum computing is also expected to elevate AI development by accelerating model training, improving the efficiency of synthetic data generation and advancing quantum machine learning applications with transformative potential across multiple sectors.

Jack Boyer, Chair of OQC

“This milestone shows the strength of a British tech leader scaling globally through international collaboration,” says Jack Boyer, Chair of OQC.

“Working with Digital Realty and using NVIDIA supercomputing here in the United States, OQC demonstrates how the UK and US can lead together in the responsible deployment of frontier technologies for finance and security.”
