"Together, these efforts are driving meaningful change–empowering people, strengthening systems and opening doors to a more inclusive sustainable future of work. As we look ahead, we will continue to build on this momentum, committed to a future that delivers opportunity, purpose and resilience for everyone."

Sustainable supply chains

HP has been integrating sustainability into its supply chains in a variety of ways.

Since 2019, CO₂e from product use has dropped by 46%, now making up just 25% of HP's overall footprint.

HP is embedding sustainability into society as well, building a brighter future globally.

Since 2022, its Digital Equity Accelerator has reached more than 9.1 million people across nine countries.

It has delivered digital and AI tools to underserved youth at YMCA Digital Hubs, equipping them with new skills.

Grant Hoffman, SVP, Global Head of Operations and Portfolio - HP Solutions, adds: "Since 2019, we’ve achieved a 41% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 operational greenhouse gas emissions, driven by improved energy efficiency and increased adoption of renewable electricity.

Grant Hoffman, Senior Vice President of Operations and Portfolio at HP Solutions

"In 2024, 100% renewable electricity powered all HP operations in the US."

HP is on track to exceed its target of a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions from global operations by 2030, benchmarked against its 2019 baseline.

By 2024, HP achieved a 41% reduction, indicating that it is significantly ahead of schedule and poised to surpass its goal within the coming years.

HP has also committed to cutting its value chain (Scope 3) GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, using the same 2019 baseline.

As of the end of 2024, HP reported a 27% reduction across its entire value chain, demonstrating substantial progress but with continued efforts required to meet the 2030 target.

Driving circularity

Since 2019, more than 4 billion pounds of recycled or renewable materials have been used in its products and packaging.

The company is intensifying its recycling efforts through the innovative use of ocean-bound plastics and supply chain programmes that repurpose waste like fishing nets into new products such as the HP EliteBook 1040 G11.

HP is also leading the way in reducing e-waste through initiatives like the HP HOPE programme, which has delivered refurbished devices to more than 40,000 young individuals, helping bridge the digital divide while maintaining technological utility.

Grant adds: "Every milestone we achieve in sustainability is a reminder of what’s possible when innovation meets responsibility.

"The newly released HP 2024 Sustainable Impact Report shows our progress toward building a cleaner, more circular future."Solutions such as HP Hope and our circular services are keeping technology in use longer, reducing e-waste while helping close the digital divide.
