People Moves: Daniele Magazzeni Joins UBS as Bank's AI Chief

UBS has appointed Daniele Magazzeni as its Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, effective 1 January 2026, marking a significant step in the bank’s ongoing AI-driven transformation.
Based in London, Daniele will report to the Group Chief Operations and Technology Officer and lead UBS’ global AI strategy.
Daneiele joins the Swiss multinational investment bank and financial services firm from J.P. Morgan, where he served as Chief Analytics Officer for both the EMEA region and the Commercial and Investment Bank.
In that role, he oversaw global analytics initiatives across markets, banking, payments and securities services.
His work focused on advancing AI capabilities, establishing governance frameworks and fostering innovation to drive measurable business impact.
Before his banking career, he was an Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Kingās College London, specialising in AI planning and decision-making systems.
In his new position, Daniele will lead the Chief Artificial Intelligence Office, tasked with expanding AI-powered tools and processes across UBS, ensuring the firm scales these technologies responsibly and effectively.
Along with his team, he will aim to enhance client experiences, boost employee productivity and strengthen the organisationās digital foundations.
