Sageâs AI Features Boost Finance Efficiency & Sustainability

Sage Intacct’s R3 2025 release is changing the face of finance technology, equipping small and mid-sized business finance teams with advanced AI-driven automation, seamless payment integration and sustainability insights.
This update reflects Sage’s commitment to helping finance leaders close books faster, automate routine processes and drive strategic value while operating sustainably.
“Sage is always at the forefront of helping customers realise the value of automation and insight,” says Scott Schimberg, Partner at Armanino, a Sage Intacct partner and provider of implementation, consulting and support services for Sage Intacct customers.
“By further automating reconciliation, payments and procurement, Sage Intacct is helping them save time and make smarter decisions. It’s the kind of innovation finance teams need to stay ahead.”
AI-powered automation transforms the finance close
Central to this release is Sage Copilot, an AI-powered assistant designed to streamline everyday financial workflows.
Its natural language Copilot Search Help enables users across the US, UK, Canada, South Africa and Australia to ask product questions and get instant, conversational answers, dramatically reducing time spent searching for information and boosting productivity.
For early access customers in the US and UK, Copilot supports AI-powered Close Automation tools, including a Subledger Reconciliation Assistant that flags discrepancies and helps resolve issues before they delay month-end close.
A customisable Close Workspace offers task templates, ownership tracking and real-time notifications to standardise and accelerate the close process.
Smarter AP and procurement capabilities
Another standout enhancement in the R3 2025 release is the expanded accounts payable (AP) automation.
Sage Vendor Payments powered by MineralTree brings ACH, check and virtual card payment methods directly into Sage Intacct, eliminating the need to switch between systems.
This integration improves cash flow visibility, reduces fraud risk and supports complex workflows such as multi-entity environments and layered approval rules.
AI-driven line-level matching further enhances AP efficiency by automatically comparing invoice lines against purchase order lines, flagging discrepancies and accelerating approvals. This reduces manual review times and cuts the risk of human error.
In procurement, Sage Intacct eProcurement is now extended to all industries. With embedded vendor punchout, finance teams can shop directly from vendor sites, have order data automatically imported into Intacct, and apply negotiated pricing rules.
This seamless purchasing process enhances accuracy, compliance and spend control across organisations.
Sustainability data as a built-in capability
Sustainability is another key theme in the R3 2025 update.
In the UK, Sage users now have access to Sage Earth Carbon Accounting, which delivers fast, no-setup carbon footprint estimates using industry and revenue benchmarks.
By leveraging accounting data, businesses can quickly establish a baseline for greenhouse gas emissions, kickstarting ESG initiatives without the need for complex data collection projects.
These insights not only prepare companies for future reporting requirements but also help finance leaders integrate sustainability into financial strategy as a measurable, actionable objective.
As ESG expectations rise from regulators, investors and customers, this data-driven approach ensures that environmental responsibility is embedded into daily business operations.
With AI-powered close automation, smarter AP and procurement workflows and embedded sustainability insights, Sage Intacct’s R3 2025 release delivers tools that free finance teams from manual processes, reduce errors and create more time for high-value work.
By unifying operational efficiency and ESG readiness, Sage strengthens finance leaders’ ability to drive growth with agility, confidence and foresight.
