Salesforce is Investing US$1bn in Mexico's Agentic AI Future

Technology firms are increasingly viewing Latin America as a strategic location for AI expansion, with organisations aiming to leverage regional talent while meeting the area's growing appetite for autonomous agent solutions.
In response to this trend, Salesforce has revealed its intentions to channel US$1bn into its Mexican operations across the next five years.
The enterprise software giant, known for its cloud-based solutions spanning sales, service and marketing capabilities, plans to direct these resources towards building infrastructure that enables its Agentforce platform to scale throughout the region.
The capital will finance a fresh Mexico City headquarters and a new 'Global Delivery Centre', as well as helping to facilitate a large recruitment drive in Mexico and Latin American more broadly.
Salesforce's vision for the "agentic enterprise"
The company frames this initiative as central to its mission of helping businesses transform into what it terms "agentic enterprises" â organisations that integrate autonomous AI agents with their human workforce to manage customer service, sales and operational functions.
“Mexico is home to some of the world’s most innovative companies and it’s becoming an important hub for enterprises embracing the agentic future.”
This development builds upon Salesforce's existing Mexican footprint, where operations have been underway since 2006.
Current clientele within the country includes theme park business Xcaret, food producer Grupo Bafar and drinks company FEMSA, supported by roughly 1,000 regional partners and resellers.
Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economy for Mexico's Secretariat of Economy, says: "Salesforce's commitment to expanding its investment in Mexico highlights the strength of our economy and the exceptional talent we have."
He continues that the investment "will not only create jobs and build AI skills within Mexico but will also position our country as a key consultancy hub for markets across Latin America on AI agents and more."
Mexico's appeal for AI investment
The company is establishing a five-storey premises in Mexico City's Polanco neighbourhood, situated within the Miyana II building with room for as many as 2,000 staff members.
This facility will accommodate a Global Delivery Centre operating as part of Salesforce's professional services arm, delivering consultancy services in English, Spanish and Portuguese to customers throughout the Americas.
Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, says: "Mexico is home to some of the world's most innovative companies and it's becoming an important hub for enterprises embracing the agentic future."
He characterises the US$1bn commitment as "a commitment to Mexico as a key market for AI-powered growth â supporting the incredible talent, customers and partners who are shaping the next generation of digital leadership across Latin America".
The CEO also says that his firm is "accelerating the rise of Agentic Enterprises, with humans and AI agents collaborating to transform industries and drive unprecedented levels of productivity, efficiency and customer success".
The Global Delivery Centre will concentrate mostly on deploying Agentforce, Salesforce's flagship agentic AI product, which is designed for creating and launching autonomous agents.
These digital assistants utilise large language models (LLMs) to interpret natural language requests and carry out functions including answering customer questions, modifying records or producing reports without requiring human input for individual actions.
Early adoption across the region
Multiple regional enterprises are starting to deploy Agentforce and will utilise services from the newly established delivery centre, among them Globo, a Brazilian broadcasting organisation, Grupo Falabella, a Chilean retail group and ProtecciĂłn, a Colombian pensions and investment firm.
The facility will deliver implementation assistance and continuous consultancy for these rollouts.
Phil Sebok, Country Manager for Salesforce Mexico, says: "Agentforce is the catalyst for transformation, helping organisations in Mexico and throughout the region become Agentic Enterprises."
He notes that the investment "sets us up to help companies augment human workforces with agents to create new opportunities, revenue streams and ways of working."
Beyond its core business investment, Salesforce is allocating US$250,000 to Amigos de Filantrofilia, a Mexican charitable organisation, to fund AI education initiatives for students.
This contribution represents part of wider workforce development activities across the region aimed at cultivating technical capabilities around AI implementation and management.
