Behind Klarna's AI strategy

David Sandström, Klarna's Chief Marketing Officer, has played a pivotal role in developing the company's AI approach.

"At Klarna we're not just adopting AI to streamline operations – we're using it to rethink creativity itself" he says.

"By combining Google Cloud's leading AI models with Klarna's unique consumer insights we can craft experiences that feel smarter and more personal," he adds.

"Early pilots already show the potential: AI-driven creative concepts from dynamic digital lookbooks to hyper-personalised product campaigns boosted time spent in our app by 15% and increased orders by 50%.

"For us this is proof that when creativity meets AI the results can transform the way people shop".

The alliance will initially concentrate on two primary areas aimed at enriching users' interactions within the Klarna application.

The alliance reaches beyond the consumer-facing elements. Klarna will additionally leverage Google Cloud's AI hardware and specialist knowledge to tackle fraud and money laundering.

This objective will be accomplished through the development and implementation of graph neural networks.

These sophisticated machine learning frameworks are engineered to examine intricate relationships between users, transactions and devices to identify suspicious activity with enhanced precision.
