Cloudflare: The Invisible Shield Protecting 20% of the Web
Every day, an invisible shield - Cloudflare - protects the internet by deflecting over 209 billion cyber threats.
An internet infrastructure company, Cloudflare safeguards approximately 20% of all web traffic.
"We're built on an intelligent, secure, high-speed global network," explains Steve Bray, Cloudflare's VP for Australia and New Zealand.
Cloudflare as a company
Steve’s mission at Cloudflare focuses on the increasing complexity of securing dispersed networks and remote workers. "Maintaining visibility and control has never been more difficult," Steve notes.
This is facilitated by the company's data centres in over 320 cities in 120 countries, allowing Cloudflare to deliver 50 millisecond latency to about 95% of the internet users in the world.
Case in point for Cloudflare
Behind the numbers are real results. Cloudflare's partnering with Australian government office New South Wales Department of Customer Service made access for 8 million citizens in New South Wales to government services easier and securer.
While Cloudflare is renowned for its Content Delivery Network (CDN), Steve emphasises that their offerings extend far beyond this.
Things like improving performance, ensuring reliability, cost reduction and defending against massive DDoS attacks are all offerings of the company.
Looking beyond
Looking to the future, Steve outlines several key areas of focus for Cloudflare, namely: strengthening strategic partnerships and seeking new alliances.
Innovation is also a big thing: "We're committed to developing cutting-edge technologies and new features that address the evolving needs of our customers," Steve affirms.
