Alteryx Names Arvind Krishnan New CTO to Drive AI Growth

Alteryx, one of the world’s leading data analytics firms, has appointed Arvind Krishnan as its Chief Technology Officer.
Arvind, who brings more than a quarter of a century of engineering and leadership experience with him, will be tasked with overseeing Alteryx’s technical strategy, particularly in relation to its Alteryx One platform and its AI Data Clearinghouse offering.
He joins from Bluecore, where he served as CTO, leading a series of engineering teams and cloud-native development initiatives.
Before Bluecore, Arvind had a decade-long tenure at Salesforce, which saw him scale product development across several of the market leader’s cloud-based offerings.
It’s this experience that Alteryx will be aiming to draw from in pursuit of its own cloud technology goals.
Alteryx is at the forefront of helping enterprises harness the full power of analytics and AI.
A focus on AI and cloud integration
Arvind’s appointment comes at a time when Alteryx is actively seeking to strengthen its foothold in the enterprise analytics market, particularly when it comes to governed AI adoption and cloud platform partnerships.
“Alteryx is at the forefront of helping enterprises harness the full power of analytics and AI,” says Andy MacMillan, the firm’s recently-appointed CEO.
Andy believes that the technical credentials of his new CTO, as well as his customer-focused approach, were particularly important in the appointment.
“Arvind brings the kind of deep technical leadership and customer-first thinking that will propel our innovation agenda forward, particularly as we scale Alteryx One, deepen our cloud partnerships and evolve our AI Data Clearinghouse to drive safe, governed AI adoption,” Andy explains.
Arvind’s broad remit
In his new role at Alteryx, Arvind is set to lead the company’s global engineering organisation, with responsibilities that will span product development, platform reliability and operational excellence.
His remit will include oversight of the company’s cloud-native architecture, as well as its integration capabilities across other major cloud platforms.
A central part of his mandate will be geared around advancing Alteryx’s AI Data Clearinghouse, a tool which addresses enterprise requirements for the secure and governed implementation of AI.
“Joining Alteryx at this transformative stage is a unique opportunity to build the future of enterprise analytics and AI,” Arvind says.
Alteryx’s newest recruit has also taken the time to show his respect and admiration for his new company’s existing engineering team, its prowess and the company's strategic vision as a whole.
“I’m energised by the company’s vision and the calibre of the engineering organisation,” he says.
“Together, we'll continue to advance an open, scalable and governed platform that helps customers innovate with confidence.”
Alteryx’s position in the market
Alteryx serves more than 8,000 corporate clients around the world but it is competing in an increasingly crowded market.
Both established players such as Microsoft and Google, as well as emerging AI-native platforms, are all competing with Alteryx for supremacy in the field of data analytics and business intelligence.
To distinguish itself, Alteryx has positioned itself as a democratising force when it comes to analytics, while also maintaining robust enterprise-grade governance and security standards.
Arvind’s appointment aligns with this strategy, complementing Alteryx’s goal of accelerating its technical development while also keeping a strong focus on customer experience.
“Bringing in someone who blends deep technical chops with a customer-centric mindset is exactly the move that’ll accelerate innovation,” says Zack Mance, former Senior Director of Engineering at UserTesting.
“Arvind Krishnan comes with a powerhouse résumé in scaling cloud-native SaaS and driving advanced AI initiatives.”
