Behind ServiceNow & SoftwareOne’s Cloud Modernisation Move

Enterprise cloud computing faces a moment of transformation as organisations grapple with the dual challenges of cost management and AI adoption. Research has found the cloud computing market is set to hit a value of US$1.5tn at the end of the decade, driven by digital transformation initiatives and the integration of AI technologies.
Against this backdrop, global software and cloud solutions provider SoftwareOne has announced a partnership with ServiceNow, aimed at addressing key challenges in IT modernisation, including visibility of technology assets and automation of workflow processes.
The collaboration, announced in Stans, Switzerland, combines ServiceNow’s workflow automation technology with SoftwareOne’s software licensing expertise, and aims to help organisations manage their technology investments during a period of increased cloud adoption.
ServiceNow brings AI to enterprise workflows
The first phase of the partnership includes a joint offering that combines ServiceNow’s workflow automation, which uses AI to automate repetitive business processes, with SoftwareOne’s expertise in software licensing and cloud infrastructure management.
SoftwareOne, which manages 7,500 software brands across 60 countries, will integrate ServiceNow’s platform into its existing services. The integration enables organisations to track their IT assets, which includes software licenses and cloud resources, through a centralised system.
- SoftwareOne manages 7,500 software brands across 60 countries
- Company maintains over 350 ServiceNow certifications across 9,300 employees
The joint offering focuses on maximising return on investment from software and cloud spending, enabling organisations to redirect funds towards innovation projects. The system provides visibility of IT assets and helps organisations build data infrastructure to support AI, security and modernisation initiatives.
Raphael Erb, CEO at SoftwareOne, says: “SoftwareOne has been a proud ServiceNow Elite partner for years, helping our joint customers unlock the value of their software, cloud, and technology investments. This strategic partnership represents a natural progression in our shared mission to help organisations digitally transform while optimising their IT ecosystems.”
Technology investment optimisation drives partnership strategy
The partnership addresses the challenge of managing cloud infrastructure costs, which have increased as organisations adopt multiple cloud services. The combined offering provides tools for organisations to monitor and optimise their technology spending.
ServiceNow’s platform uses AI to automate IT service management processes, which includes tasks such as provisioning new software licenses and managing cloud resources. This automation reduces the time IT departments spend on routine tasks.
The need to reduce costs while maintaining momentum is more critical than ever
The collaboration aims to improve employee and customer experiences through end-to-end automation of platform services. The system provides an interface for employees to perform tasks, which aims to increase efficiency in service delivery.
Erica Volini, SVP Global Partnerships and Channels at ServiceNow, says: “As businesses navigate economic uncertainty, the need to reduce costs while maintaining momentum is more critical than ever. Our partnership with SoftwareOne is strategically designed to help organisations manage these pressures and deliver lasting value even in challenging times.”
Partnership builds on established relationship between firms
SoftwareOne has maintained an Elite partnership status with ServiceNow since 2017. The company has developed expertise in ServiceNow implementations across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, The Netherlands, UK, France and North America.
The Swiss company’s capabilities in ServiceNow implementations expanded through its acquisition of Beniva Consulting, which specialises in ServiceNow platform services. SoftwareOne maintains over 350 ServiceNow certifications across its 9,300 employees.
This strategic partnership represents a natural progression in our shared mission
The partnership comes as enterprises face challenges in modernising applications while maximising value from existing software and hardware investments. The offering aims to support organisations in their transition to cloud-first strategies, which involve moving IT infrastructure and applications to cloud platforms.
Erica Volini says: “This collaboration emphasises both companies' commitment to customer-centric innovation, operational excellence, and measurable business impact. It underscores our shared commitment to empower customers to unlock new opportunities for innovation and growth at scale.”
