With its AI-powered Data Protection Platform, Zscaler is delivering cutting-edge innovations to provide comprehensive data security

With the exponential growth of data, the expanding threat landscape and the adoption of cloud and AI technologies, securing sensitive data has become increasingly complex. Zscaler, a leader in cloud security, is at the forefront of addressing these challenges with its AI-powered Data Protection Platform.

The company has announced new innovations to expand its AI Data Protection Platform, which leverages the world's largest security cloud and the power of AI to deliver the industry's most comprehensive data protection solution. This platform safeguards structured and unstructured data in motion, at rest, and in use, across all exfiltration channels, including web, SaaS, email, BYOD and private applications in both data centres and public clouds.

One of the key innovations in Zscaler’s platform is the natively integrated ‘Data Security Posture Management’ (DSPM), engineered to discover, classify, and protect sensitive data in public clouds such as AWS and Microsoft Azure. This feature provides organisations with a centralised view of their data security posture, enabling them to take proactive measures to secure their data.

The company has also introduced ‘Gen AI App Security’, which offers context-rich user and risk correlation, providing insights into risky prompts, AI app usage and granular policy controls. This feature is crucial as the adoption of AI technologies continues to accelerate, presenting new security challenges.

“There is an immediate and critical need for a consolidated approach to data protection that can secure all types of data, in all locations, while streamlining security operations,” says Moinul Khan, Vice President and General Manager of Data Protection at Zscaler. “Great data protection starts with complete visibility. Point products create complexity and security gaps, and do not provide a full 360-degree view of your enterprise data. With today’s launch of the Zscaler AI Data Protection Platform, we are continuing our commitment to help customers see all their data and scale security protection to prevent leaks. By enabling data security across structured and unstructured data and all channels with our comprehensive data protection platform, organisations can replace multiple legacy point products to reduce cost and complexity.”

Zscaler: A comprehensive approach to data protection

By harnessing the power of AI and automation, Zscaler's AI Data Protection Platform increases visibility into sensitive data everywhere, provides insightful context, and delivers closed-loop workflow automation. This comprehensive approach to data protection enables organisations to replace multiple legacy point products, reducing cost and complexity while ensuring their data remains secure across the entire data lifecycle.

“Organisations are looking for more ways to extract value from the data that exists across their ecosystem, while keeping sensitive and confidential information protected. The combination of data discovery, classification and mapping provides essential context for confident enforcement of security controls while still optimising business processes,” says Jennifer Glenn, Research Director, Security & Trust at IDC. “Data security solutions, such as Zscaler’s AI Data Protection Platform, can help identify and fix data security issues, while also reducing the cost and complexity of deploying multiple classification engines and other point products.”
