Emerson, a global leader in the manufacture of automated products, has opened a new solutions centre in Singapore, in the aim of accelerating digital transformation among its customers in the Asia Pacific region.

The initiative is part of Emerson’s plan to make Singapore a hub for industrial IoT technologies, with the solutions centre having been opened at the hub of the headquarters of its Automation Solutions business.

“This is a first-of-its-kind facility that shows customers how automation and IoT technologies can drive measurable improvements to the bottom line of their manufacturing processes,” said Ron Martin, Asia Pacific President of Emerson Automation Solutions.

“Here in Singapore, we have the brightest minds in the industry collaborating with and helping our customers plan and execute their vision of future operations and working with them to reengineer their facilities to deliver Top Quartile operating performance.”

The solutions hub is equipped with some of the latest technologies including augmented and virtual reality within its collaboration spaces – something that enables customers to get an immersive experience in using Plantweb technologies.

The centre also contains a digital plant that features a scaled down version of a process manufacturing facility, where some of Emerson’s key digital solutions, Iot technologies, Process control and safety systems are displayed.

“Emerson’s new Solutions Centre builds on Singapore’s deep engineering and innovation capabilities in high-value manufacturing, to accelerate manufacturers’ digital transformation journeys within Singapore and across the region,” said Chng Kai Fond, Managing Director of Singapore’s Economic Development Board.

The solutions centre is the latest addition to Emerson’s Singapore campus, having already established a pervasive sensing centre of excellence, an analytical manufacturing & integration Centre, and a global additive manufacturing centre there.
