Devoteam acquires cloud business and AWS consultancy, Ubertas Consulting, to deliver AWS services to a broader client base and expand into UK markets

By acquiring Ubertas Consulting, Devoteam officially continues its expansion into Amazon Web Services (AWS) expertise.

This move aims to strengthen its Amazon Cloud presence across the United Kingdom and Ireland (UK&I). It is the first acquisition the company has made in the UK market, suggesting that Devoteam is eager to accelerate the AWS business in the country, given that its last AWS acquisition was in 2017.

Devoteam is a tech consulting firm that specialises in cloud platforms, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability. First founded in 1995, the company guides IT transformations with a 11,000-strong team across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), boasting the capacity to manage a range of large-scale, technology-led projects.

Ubertas Consulting: Powering the next wave of cloud solutions

Over the past six years, Ubertas Consulting has become recognised as a leading AWS delivery and consulting partner. Such an acquisition by Devoteam is designed to expand combined expertise and market reach, as both companies seek to deliver outstanding AWS solutions.

Ubertas also offers innovative go-to-market services and a very strong reputation within the UK market, but also stands to benefit from Devoteam’s broader service portfolio, global reach and expertise in the industry.

“I’m thrilled to unveil the strategic acquisition of Ubertas Consulting, a leading AWS specialist consultancy firm in the UK, marking a significant milestone in Devoteam's growth trajectory and commitment to deliver unparalleled cloud solutions across EMEA,” comments Bruno Mota, Group VP of Devoteam A-Cloud. “This strategic move reinforces our vision to provide enhanced customer value through expanded knowledge and an unwavering business focus on driving innovation and transformation in the Cloud computing landscape.”

Meeting rising cloud demands

Both companies ultimately seek to create the leading UK AWS Cloud practice. This will not only form a more powerful and competitive market entity, but also enable more customers to modernise, build and bring greater innovation with AWS.

Such an acquisition also aims to strengthen Devoteam’s position as a leading AWS provider across the UK. The new integrated organisation is positioned to meet rising demand for AWS solutions in the region, therefore empowering businesses to achieve their digital transformation goals.

Around the world, businesses are continuing to prioritise cloud and AI investments in order to get ahead of their competitors in the current digital transformation landscape. Some of the benefits it can afford companies include cost savings and increased flexibility and scalability.

By 2028, it is expected that cloud computing will shift from being a technology disruptor to becoming a necessity for getting ahead. These businesses are helping the sector grow to US$1.5tn by 2030, according to Research and Markets.
