With this partnership, HCLTech will be future-proofing the IT infrastructure of the world’s largest ice cream company, serving up global favourites like Magnum, Ben & Jerry's, Wall's and Cornetto.

“As The Magnum Ice Cream Company advances as an independent listed ice cream company, we are infusing intelligence into every layer of our digital foundation,” says Mark O’Brien, Chief Technology Officer at The Magnum Ice Cream Company.

Zero-touch automation will be a primary focus as HCLTech oversees the evolution from AIOps to a NoOps operating model, incorporating agentic solutions into TMICC as it looks to embrace autonomous operation.

“This partnership reinforces HCLTech’s leadership in driving complex, global transformations backed by deep domain expertise,” says C. Vijayakumar, CEO & Managing Director of HCLTech.

“We look forward to contributing to TMICC’s growth vision and strategy with the best of technology and global talent.”

AI-powered digital ice cream future

Having banked more than €7.9bn (US$8.3bn) in revenue in 2024, The Magnum Ice Cream Company started operating as a separate business from July 2025.

The company, formerly part of Unilever, is looking to establish a greenfield IT infrastructure – designed, built and managed by HCLTech – as it aims to seemlessly navigate its Transition Service Agreement (TSA) exit.

With its eyes set on completely autonomous IT operations powered by HCLTech’s AI force platform and superior agentic AI solutions, TMICC is embracing a technology-led transformation.

Peter ter Kulve, CEO of The Magnum Ice Cream Company

Peter ter Kulve, CEO at The Magnum Ice Cream Company, writes on LinkedIn: “2025 was a year of focus and resilience, where we sharpened our strategy and listed as an independent company, proving we can deliver results while building something new.

“Now, with that foundation, in 2026 we’re ready to accelerate: grow our business, improve productivity and invest where it matters most.

“At the centre of it all is joy. The joy ice cream brings to people everywhere.

“Because life really does taste better with ice cream.”

As more food businesses transition to include AI in their operations, TMICC is leveraging HCLTech’s excellence in consumer-packaged goods industry to lead the way to its digital transformation.
