Salesforce Agentforce 360 Connects AI Agents to Staff

Salesforce has made Agentforce 360 available worldwide following a year of development that saw the company push out four separate releases and test the system with thousands of customers.

The platform represents a shift for Salesforce from customer relationship management software into a system where AI agents operate alongside people across different business functions. Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO at Salesforce, says the company is “entering the age of the Agentic Enterprise – where AI elevates human potential like never before.”

He adds: “Agentforce 360 connects humans, agents and data on one trusted platform, helping every employee and every company achieve more than they ever thought possible.”

The company began releasing components of the system in October 2024, starting with the first enterprise AI agent platform. Three subsequent releases through June 2025 added improvements to reasoning capabilities, workflow integration and governance controls before the full Agentforce 360 launch.

Windows 10 Support Ends: What Happens to 40% Still Using It?

Windows 10 reached the end of support on 14 October 2025, leaving millions of machines without security updates. Data from TeamViewer shows that over 40% of global endpoints still run the operating system, based on an analysis of 250 million anonymised connections between July and September 2025.

Microsoft will no longer provide routine security fixes unless devices are enrolled in Extended Security Updates (ESU), a paid programme that starts at around US$61 per device for the first year and increases annually. The European Economic Area has secured one year of free ESU for consumers following pressure from customer advocacy groups, but this does not extend to UK users or businesses.

Matt Balderstone, Cybersecurity Advisor at CyberArk, says organisations cannot afford complacency. “Once Windows 10 reaches end-of-life, the absence of security updates will leave millions of machines exposed to future vulnerabilities that will never be patched, creating the prime conditions for attackers to exploit legacy systems,” he says.

The transition to Windows 11 has been complicated by hardware requirements rather than previous upgrades which only involved a software update. “The end of Windows 10 support shouldn't come as a surprise, yet many organisations remain unprepared,” says Dave Adamson, Solutions Director at Creative ITC. “Every day of delay increases risk and makes the transition harder.”

Mitsubishi: The Role of Semiconductors in Renewable Energy

Mitsubishi Electric has signed a basic agreement with Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to develop high-voltage power conversion systems for renewable energy applications.

The collaboration, announced on 15 October, is set to combine Mitsubishi's power semiconductor modules with the ITRI's expertise in high-voltage electricity conversion technology, with the aim of developing a megawatt-class power conversion system prototype that can be used for demonstration testing.

Power conversion systems are a critical piece of infrastructure that connect renewable energy sources and electricity grids, converting power between direct current and alternating current.

The agreement between Mitsubishi and the ITRI will see the two organisations work to create systems capable of handling large volumes of electricity, such as those from mega-scale solar PV arrays.

As one of the world's largest and most well-resourced tech firms, Mitsubishi's influence will be integral to the project's success.

The Japanese company will contribute marketing capabilities to the initiative, while the ITRI will provide more hands-on expertise, taking charge of things like system integration.

The collaboration will also see ITRI supply design documents and demonstration test results to Taiwanese power conversion system manufacturers as reference information for future projects.

Databricks Commits US$10m to Train 100,000 in UK and Ireland

Databricks has announced plans at its Data + AI World Tour event in London to train 100,000 people in data and AI across the UK and Ireland by 2028, backed by an investment exceeding US$10m in its Free Edition programme.

The investment will provide students, hobbyists and professionals with access to the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform at no cost, which includes self-paced training materials and tools designed to address the shortage of AI talent in the technology sector.
