Deloitte: Delivering Cloud ERP for Higher Education
We speak to Principal at Deloitte Consulting, Betty Fleurimond, on delivering Cloud ERP transformation to higher education institutions like OSU

Betty Fleurimond, Principal with Deloitte Consulting, leads the Higher Education Cloud ERP Portfolio, helping deliver technology-enabled transformations in the higher education sector.

A first-generation college graduate, Fleurimond is proud to be one of two Co-Founders of Deloitte Consulting’s higher education practice.

After five years with Intel Corporation, today, she draws upon her skills and experiences as an engineer designing motherboards and microprocessors to now drive digital transformation in the higher education space exclusively.

“It is an incredible honor to serve my higher education clients,” she says. “As a first-gen graduate, I deeply value the power of education and the very skills that allow me to serve my clients with distinction, including critical thinking, analysis and problem solving.”

Fleurimond: Leading Deloitte’s cloud ERP portfolio for higher ed

Today, Fleurimond is responsible for managing an integrated discipline across cloud ERP systems that enable transformation with Deloitte’s higher education clients.

“Our teams sit at the intersection of essential modern administrative systems in higher education, including HR, payroll, finance, budget and planning and student information systems,” she says.

“These critical functions require thoughtful and intentional organisational change leadership for true adoption and sustainment.”

An understanding and appreciation of the culture and context of higher education is foundational to the success of transformational efforts.

She notes that success takes a university-wide effort, in which transformation is personally meaningful, individually owned and collectively realised.

“Higher education is not a monolith,” she adds. “While there are over 4,000 institutions of higher education in the US, there is no one-size-fits-all model. The services we offer are unique to each institution we serve, honoring their unique culture.

“Digital ecosystems are foundational to the ability of higher education institutions to fulfill their critical mission in a modern society.  As the largest professional services network in the world, Deloitte helps our university partners create digital ecosystems that connects students, academic faculty, researchers, faculty-clinicians and community members.”

Oregon State University: A powerful higher ed partner

Deloitte Consulting is distinctly proud to partner with Oregon State University (OSU) on their administrative modernisation programme, indeed a transformational stand-out for Fleurimond.

“With OSU, we value transparency, collaboration and candor,” she says. “This creates an authentic space not only for examining hard truths but also supporting each other’s success.

“Indeed, effective partnership is a choice.

“As a legal entity partnership, Deloitte shares some of the same values and principles as the higher education clients we serve. Shared governance, collaboration, collegiality, intellectual inquiry and rigorous standards are in our DNA.

“OSU is beginning a true journey of transformation and brings the tools, the team and the intention to set the University up for success. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with them on this important journey.”
