SAP Appoints President to Lead Enterprise Transformation
SAP has announced the appointment of Rouven Morato as President of Enterprise and Business Transformation Management, signalling the technology giant’s continued commitment to accelerating customer migration to cloud-based ERP solutions.
Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Rouven will oversee SAP’s Enterprise division, which encompasses the company’s flagship RISE with SAP programme, described as “SAP’s largest individual product line.” The appointment brings together two critical elements of SAP’s business strategy – Enterprise and Business Transformation Management – under unified leadership.
Streamlining the path to Cloud ERP
The move reflects SAP’s strategic focus on guiding its extensive installed customer base through the transition to cloud-based ERP systems. RISE with SAP has been the cornerstone of this strategy since its launch, offering customers a comprehensive package to simplify and accelerate their migration journey.
“Enterprise refers to SAP's initiative for its installed-base customers moving towards Cloud ERP,” Rouven explained in his announcement. “Bringing together Business Transformation Management and Enterprise reflects the incredible journey we’ve embarked on over the past four years with SAP Signavio, SAP LeanIX and WalkMe.”
Building on transformation expertise
SAP continues to evolve its portfolio of transformation tools and services. Under Rouven’s direction, the Business Transformation Management division has already established itself as “a key pillar of the Business Suite organisation, making it a strategic driver of innovation and transformation,” he says.
“Business Transformation Management has always been about driving real transformation. At SAP, this is especially key in the context of RISE,” he stated. “That’s why we are now bringing both together — to better guide our customers on their journey to the cloud and drive innovation in AI and Business Suite, with a strong focus on the public cloud.”
The integration of SAP’s acquisitions including Signavio, LeanIX and WalkMe, has expanded the company’s capabilities in business process intelligence, enterprise architecture management and digital adoption — critical tools for organisations undertaking comprehensive transformation initiatives.
Looking ahead, Rouven has indicated that his leadership will place special emphasis on public cloud deployments and AI innovations within the Business Suite. This aligns with broader industry trends as organisations increasingly seek cloud-native solutions that can deliver greater agility, scalability and access to cutting-edge technologies.
“For us, this means taking the next steps to help our customers achieve new heights and accelerate their transformation journeys,” Rouven said.
