Atos has Appointed Former CFO Paul Saleh as its Fourth CEO in Two Years, Replacing former Chief Exec Yves Bernaert

French technology company Atos has appointed its fourth chief executive in two years, naming former Group Chief Financial Officer Paul Saleh as its latest CEO after what the group described as ‘an intense period of transformation’.

Atos’ now former CEO Yves Bernaert was appointed in October 2023 but has left the business, citing “a difference of opinion” when it came to adjusting and executing the group’s strategy.

Bernaert himself succeeded Nourdine Bihmane, who in July 2022 was named Atos’ CEO after previous chief executive Rodolphe Belmer left the company.

According to Atos, Saleh’s new role will primarily see him focus on refinancing Atos’ financial debts and ongoing or coming negotiations, particular the sale of its Tech Foundations business to EPEI and its Big Data & security (BDS) activities to Airbus.

Announcing the reshaping of its management team, Atos also said that it expected its free cash flow for the year to be below its target by approximately €100m (US$109m). In a statement, the group said its strategy has been adjusted in light of financial constraints to “ensure the repayment and refinancing of its financial debts”.
