AxonIQ: Event Sourcing for Public Sector and Government
In the face of Government regulations, constantly delivering more while also driving costs down might sound like a nightmare. However, thinking outside of the box often creates new opportunities.
AxonIQ offers an end-to-end development and infrastructure platform for smoothly evolving Event-Driven Microservices focused on CQRS and Event Sourcing. Axon platform is being used by a wide range of companies in highly demanding sectors such as healthcare, banking, insurance, logistics, and several public sector agencies and organisations.
On Wednesday, 23rd June, from 4 pm to 6 pm CEST, AxonIQ held a free two-hour online Round Table event. A selection of AxonIQ customers from the Public sector explained how the Axon framework helped them improve and evolve their day-to-day operations.
This session aimed to inspire you to think carefully about the data you capture and what you do with that data once you have it. It also gave insight into how applications built with Axon allow you to scale more quickly and enable you to process your data faster and at a reduced cost.
What was discussed?
AxonIQ’s government customers build innovative solutions that scale efficiently and capture more meaningful data — precisely what your modernisation needs. In the session, we heard:
- A US Government customer discuss how they implemented CQRS/ES microservice systems in parallel using the Axon Framework (while supporting six live systems), backed by MongoDB and deployed to an on-premises Kubernetes cluster.
- A European Government sector organisation discuss how they collect citizen land registry information with complicated data capture policies. They also explained their business justification for applying Event Sourcing at the core of their primary system.

What is the Axon platform?
The Axon platform includes both a programming model as well as a specialised infrastructure to provide enterprise-ready operational support for the programming model - especially for scaling and distributing mission-critical business applications.
The Axon platform consists of the popular Axon Framework and the built-for-purpose Axon Server. The open-source Axon Framework provides a clean, elegant Java API for writing DDD, CQRS, and Event Sourcing applications. Axon Server is a zero-configuration message router and event store. Axon Server is distributed in two editions.
