Diversity is a pressing issue for the fintech industry.

In fact, the ‘Fintech Census’ carried out by EY and Innovate Finance found seven out of 10 people employed in fintech in the UK were male, despite 47% of the overall UK workforce being female.

Elsewhere, research from Deloitte highlights that only 17% of senior roles in the industry are held by women.

European Women Payment Network (EWPN) is just one organisation trying to reverse this trend with it's must-see event.

Hosted in Amsterdam, the annual EWPN Annual Conference & Awards claims to be ‘the only Pan-European Conference specially focused on women working in Fintech & Payments.'

The event hopes to outline the importance of diversity in fintech through interactive panels, deep-dive workshops and plenary sessions with female industry leaders.

"Our events and workshops offer an opportunity to the women to listen to renowned and upcoming female payments experts and role models who are leaders in the field; female pioneers and innovators in the fintech and payments industries and female leaders who are paving the way to success for women across all sectors," reads EWPN's website.

Speakers at this years' event include Martha Mghendi-Fisher, Founder of EWPN, Rose Beaumont, SVP, Global Marketing & Communications, at Mastercard, and Tracey Davies, President of Money20/20.

The event will take place on the 4th- 5th of June 2018 at the RAI Amsterdam.
